This trail wraps itself around Long Lake, in the Indian Peaks Wilderness. We wanted to take B's mom to our favorite spot here in CO, which is home to Lake Isabelle... but since "they" drained the lake by more than half, we decided to try our feet at hiking around Long Lake. It was beautiful, as always, and we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of snow. I had known for a week or so that it had been snowing in the mountains, but I thought it was always in higher elevation. A lot of the plants had been matted down, so you could tell that there had been a bit of snow covering them earlier this week. Owen was in heaven running in and out of the small snow patches. Finn was content to stay in the pack until he got a taste of a snow ball that O had given him. After that, the entire trip all he wanted to do was eat snowballs.
