This past sun/mon/tues was a whirlwind of a visit from the Hoffers. We had a blast showing them around to one of our favorite spots, Lake Isabelle. As we were making our way up to the lake, after we saw 3 moose(!!!), we were informed by a group of hikers that the lake had been drained halfway. That just blew my mind, and we are still trying to figure out how that is done, so if anyone would like to enlighten me I would appreciate it. Apparently during low water seasons Boulder is in need of water, so they drain lakes. It still offered spectacular views and just a different feel overall. At times it felt as though we walking on the moon with all the rocks and layers of sand showing. We had such a great time with Tony and Amy.... and hopefully business for them will bring them out this way in the future! Oh, and did I mention that the round trip milage came to approx. 10 miles?!?!
