Last Friday w/ GiGi {for awhile}

Every Friday I have the pleasure of taking the boys to see GiGi. Fridays with GiGi have been going on since Brian was a single guy, intent on visiting his grandparents every week for lunch. I have since enjoyed countless casseroles and the ever favorite Dorito Taco's, followed by a selection of ice cream. Owen has received such an amazing gift, now along with Finn, getting to really know his Great Grandmother.... as have I. She has a hidden strength that shines through her quiet personality. Her writings are incredible, in fact, before we left Brian asked her to write her life story.... she is up to 1992. Every week we discuss what new book she is reading, from Bonhoeffer to Christian series books, she is well read. We talk about the crazy old people in her building, and also about her dear friends who she visits and prays with, those who have found out they have cancer or some other ailment. I told her that now that she has Fridays open she should get a summer fling! I'm sure little Charlie would be perfect... a crazy old man who wears his socks up to his knees, knows everything about antiques, and is quirky - I know it would make for an interesting summer story! I will miss Fridays a lot, but we will have to try and find an interesting and creative way to keep in touch. Without further adieu, our last Friday (for just a time), in photos....
