This hike was insane. Well... maybe not insane, just tough. We are used to having a nice little warmup when we hike, but this was just straight up right away. I sucked wind all the way up until we arrived at the lower Mohawk Lake. We hiked over a mine shaft and past old cabins and an actual mine cable, as well as carts. The upper Mohawk Lake was pretty incredible looking and the crazy hail storm that hit us was incredible too! Yes, I did write HAIL. Thats the Rocky Mountains for you. Thankfully the boys are very prepared (O could have used gloves).... B and I, not so much. We had a blast despite the rain and hail, and as we were leaving the trailhead the sun came out and gave us a wonderful sight.
