This is a photo of some of the girls from last years graduating class. They learned the art of tailoring, a skill that will provide them with the opportunity of lifelong employment. This year they have returned to learn hairdressing.
The photos below are of Neema Class 3, a new round of girls from neighboring villages, selected to learn tailoring. Tomorrow we are going to be privileged to hear all the girls stories. I am a bit overwhelmed with the thought of hearing how their life has been. Stories here are incredibly sad and unimaginable. Today we heard the story of a girl that just made my heart so heavy. K has had pain and bleeding for months, and revealed to us that she was pregnant at 13yrs, kicked out of her family home and eventually she has resorted to prostitution and odd jobs to pay for food for herself and her young 5yr old daughter. We are taking her to the hospital tomorrow to been seen and evaluated and pray for her healing. K is 18. This is the first time she has had people love her and believe in her, giving her medical help and skills training.
